Killeen ISD is proud to recognize 33 students who earned the prestigious Lone Star FFA Degree during the Texas FFA Association's annual convention this July.
The Lone Star FFA Degree is the highest degree of membership awarded by the Texas FFA Association. It recognizes students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, commitment and achievement through agricultural education and the National FFA Organization.
Earning the distinction represents years of dedication. Recipients invest three to four years in FFA while completing more than 1,000 hours in Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects, performing at least 25 hours of community service and actively participating in leadership development and FFA activities.
To qualify for the Lone Star FFA Degree, students must meet rigorous state requirements, including:
Be an active FFA member for at least two years.
Complete agricultural education coursework that includes a supervised agricultural experience.
Demonstrate leadership through public speaking, parliamentary procedure and chapter involvement.
Maintain a satisfactory academic record.
Participate in chapter, district and state-level FFA activities.
Complete a minimum of 25 hours of community service.
