Four talented Killeen ISD student-artists earned a coveted spotlight at the Texas Art Education Association’s 2025 txEDCON Exhibition, hosted during the annual Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) / Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Convention in Houston.
The exhibition held September 11–14 at the George R. Brown Convention Center, showcased the creative achievements of students from Pre-K through 12th grade across Texas.
Killeen ISD was proudly represented by:
Aspen Baird — Rancier Middle School
Britnee Bestick — Union Grove Middle School
Jamie Guillen-Martinez — Eastern Hills Middle School
Jada Masao — Killeen High School
With student works displayed alongside peers from across the state, the exhibition reflected not only artistic talent but also the commitment of educators and district leaders to supporting the arts.
“Our students’ artwork tells a powerful story of creativity,” said Morganne Davies, KISD Director of Fine Arts. “It is rare for 100% of a district’s submissions to be selected as exemplary works of visual art education across the state of Texas. These young artists are a testament to the exceptional teaching, learning, and innovation taking place in our secondary visual art classrooms every day.”
The recognition of these four students demonstrates the value of the arts in education. Their achievements shine as a reminder that excellence begins early and is thriving at every level across the district.
